How much should I use?

Less than you'd think, and you can't really overdo it. Rough guide: about 1 gallon per 4×8 raised bed each season, 10–20% blended into potting mix for containers, and 1 cubic foot top-dresses roughly 400 sq ft of lawn. Each product page has specifics.

What's the difference between castings and fertilizer?

Fertilizer is a nutrient shot; castings are a soil amendment. The N-P-K numbers on our lab reports look small next to a fertilizer label because castings work differently — improving soil structure, water holding, and the soil life that makes nutrients available over time. Many gardeners use both: castings to build the soil, fertilizer when a heavy feeder needs a push.

Is it safe around kids and pets?

Castings are just what worms leave behind after eating compost — no synthetic chemicals, nothing caustic. A curious dog taking a mouthful is having a weird snack, not an emergency. As with any soil product, wash hands after gardening. And every batch's lab report ispublished here, so you don't have to take our word for what's in the bag.

How do I store castings?

In the bag or a lidded bucket, out of direct sun, lightly damp — not sealed airtight and bone dry, not swimming. A garage or shed shelf is perfect. Use worm tea within a few days of pickup; castings are not in a hurry.

How do I pause, change, or cancel my subscription?

Through a self-serve portal — pause, change plans, or cancel in about a minute. No phone calls, no hard sell. The link lives here and in every receipt email.

Do you ship?

No — everything is local pickup or next-day delivery in the South Bay. Wet, heavy products and long shipping don't mix, and live worms shouldn't spend days in a truck. Seewhere we deliver.

What does the batch ID on my bag mean?

Every harvest gets an ID like B-2026-07-A, and every ID has a page with its lab results. Scan the QR code on the bag or type the ID attopsoilandrain.com/batches.
